Bobby Hutcherson - Components

This is Hutcherson's second album released as leader. Hancock and Joe Chambers from Oblique are here as well as Freddie Hubbard, James Spaulding, and Ron Carter. The addition of the horns set this one appart from Oblique. Album is divided into two halves. The first written by Hutcherson, the more abstract second half by percussionist Joe Chambers.

The opening title track is very good, a favorite.

Bobby Hutchereson - Oblique

This is Jazz. On the relax side, but energy. . unification / solidification of sound (textures).
Vibraphone player as leader.
This guy is good. Not too too well known, I guess.
Check it out.
I like the second half best.

1. Til Then
2. My Joy
3. Theme from "Blow Up"
4. Subtle Neptune
5. Oblique
6. Bi-Sectional
